Robert Hester (Robie) understands the importance and the value of a properly insulated home. He learned this after working in sales for Certain Teed Corp. in Florida for several years. In 1972 Robie saw an opportunity to start his own business using the knowledge he had learned with Certain Teed Corp. He moved back to his hometown of Savannah, GA and began his own company in the family barn just outside of the city. Within two years contractors and individual homeowners were beginning to understand what Robie and East Coast Insulation were all about- Providing quality service and installation to meet the economy’s energy saving demands.
The family barn eventually was too small to provide adequate service for the business. In 1974 East Coast Insulation moved the heart of Savannah on Echols Street. This location has been strategic for the company. Located in the middle of town makes it easy for our customers to find us and for us to find our customers.
The company has been a long time member of the Savannah Home Builders Association. Maintaining the membership with HBA has helped East Coast Insulation to sustain a long time relationship with various builders and developers throughout the area.
In 2005 East Coast Insulation took another step forward by opening a second branch Ridgeland, SC serving the Hilton Head and Bluffton areas. Now both branches are providing their customers with blown or batt fiberglass insulation, open or closed cell foam insulation, and fireplaces.
Being an established business for over thirty-five years has allowed East Coast Insulation to gain relationships with many suppliers in the insulation business. With these contacts there are no insulation needs that cannot be met. East Coast has provided its insulating services for many commercial businesses as well as residential jobs. From installing new insulation to removing old worn-out insulation, East Coast Insulation can do it all!
